Why is there water leaking around the base of my toilet?
A leak at the base usually means the wax ring seal between the toilet and the flange has failed. This allows sewer gas and water to seep out. The fix is to pull the toilet, inspect the flange, replace the wax ring, and reset the toilet. It's not a repair to put off — the leak can damage your subfloor.
